Accessibility Statement
1. Commitment to Accessibility
The RestaCOVE project is committed to making its website accessible to the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities. We aim to provide a website that can be perceived, understood, navigated and used by visitors with different abilities, devices and assistive technologies.
2. Scope of This Statement
This Accessibility Statement applies to the official RestaCOVE project website: https://restacove.eu
Content hosted on external platforms or third-party websites may be covered by separate accessibility statements issued by the relevant service providers.
3. Compliance Status
The RestaCOVE website has not yet undergone a complete independent accessibility assessment. Full conformance with the accessibility standards listed below has therefore not been verified.
The project aims to improve website accessibility with reference to:
- Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA.
- European Standard EN 301 549, where applicable.
- Relevant European and national accessibility legislation, as applicable to the project and its organisation.
- This statement will be updated as accessibility testing progresses and identified issues are addressed.
4. Accessibility Measures
The project aims to incorporate the following accessibility principles:
- Clear and consistent page structure.
- Logical heading hierarchy and descriptive page titles.
- Keyboard-accessible navigation and visible focus indicators.
- Sufficient colour contrast.
- Meaningful alternative text for informative images.
- Text resizing without loss of information or functionality.
- Descriptive links and buttons.
- Clear form labels and understandable error messages.
- Responsive layouts across different screen sizes.
- Avoidance of unnecessary flashing content.
- Captions, transcripts or alternatives for multimedia content where available.
- Compatibility with commonly used browsers and assistive technologies.
These measures are ongoing objectives and do not imply that every page currently meets every requirement.
5. Known Accessibility Limitations
Some content or functionality may not yet be fully accessible. Potential limitations include:
- PDF documents that have not been fully optimised for assistive technologies.
- Documents supplied by project partners or external organisations.
- Images and diagrams that may require more descriptive alternative text.
- Complex tables and data visualisations.
- Embedded videos, maps and social media content.
- Interactive features provided by third-party services or WordPress plugins.
- Older content that requires additional accessibility review.
The project will review identified barriers and prioritise improvements.
6. Assessment Approach
Website accessibility will be evaluated through a combination of automated and manual testing, including:
- Automated accessibility checks.
- Keyboard navigation and focus-order testing.
- Color-contrast checks.
- Review of headings, links, forms and alternative text.
- Testing at different screen sizes and zoom levels.
- Screen-reader testing where possible.
- Review of downloadable documents and interactive features.
A complete accessibility assessment has not yet been finalised. The results and date of a future assessment will be reflected in this statement when available.
7. Accessibility Feedback
We welcome feedback about the accessibility of the RestaCOVE website.
Please contact the project if you encounter an accessibility barrier, cannot access a page or document, need information in an alternative format, or have suggestions for improving accessibility.
Accessibility contact: restacove2026@gmail.com
When reporting an issue, please include the relevant page or document, a description of the problem and, where relevant, the browser, device or assistive technology used.
We will review accessibility enquiries and respond as soon as reasonably possible.
- 8. Alternative Formats
Where technically and reasonably possible, project information may be provided in an alternative accessible format. Depending on the request, alternatives may include accessible HTML, plain text, an accessible PDF, captions, transcripts or a textual description of complex visual information. Requests may be submitted to the accessibility contact listed above.
9. Third-Party Content
The website may include content supplied or controlled by third parties, such as videos, maps, social media content, registration platforms, external documents and partner websites. Although the project aims to use accessible services where possible, it cannot guarantee the accessibility of all externally controlled content. Where feasible, an alternative or accompanying textual information will be provided.
10. Technical Information
The website is built using WordPress and the Twenty Twenty-Five theme. It uses web technologies including HTML, CSS and JavaScript, with accessibility-related attributes where appropriate. Accessibility also depends on the website’s content, plugins, embedded services, downloadable documents and the technologies used to access the website.
11. Complaints and Further Action
If you experience an accessibility problem, please contact the project first so that the issue can be investigated and, where possible, resolved. Where applicable, visitors may also use the relevant complaint or enforcement procedures provided under applicable accessibility legislation.
12. Continuous Improvement
Accessibility is an ongoing process. The RestaCOVE project aims to review the website, improve accessible content, address identified barriers and update this statement as the website develops. The statement will be reviewed following significant changes to the website or when new accessibility assessment results become available.
